Indigenous Australians & Stewardship of the Land
Ferrowest recognises and respects the important role that Indigenous Australians play as traditional custodians of much of the Australian land mass.
The Company also respects the deep cultural significance that the land has for Indigenous Australians and the important role that cultural beliefs have played in the effective stewardship of the land over thousands of years.
Ferrowest always seeks to reach early agreement with traditional Aboriginal custodians of the land and to maintain a high level communication and cooperation that will allow heritage surveys, exploration and mining to proceed whilst protecting Aboriginal heritage, the environment and generating benefits for the Indigenous community.
