Western Haematite Project
The Western Haematite Project is an early exploration stage project.
The Yogi tenement package also hosts potential direct shipping grade, haematite iron ore mineralisation, outcropping at various locations over a 15km strike length. These outcrops vary in grade but average around 58 – 59%Fe. The Western Haematite Project is an early stage exploration project with exploration drilling targeted to identify a suitable section of the haematite beds of around 2km in total length where iron grades are consistent and suitable for mining.

Given the indicative widths and potential depths, such a deposit might hold around 12Mt. This could support a conceptual mining operation of around 1.5Mtpa for 8 years. In such a concept, haematite would be mined by open cut methods and transported 245km to the Port of Geraldton by road train for export.
No JORC Resources for haematite direct shipping grade iron ore have been identified at Yogi at this stage but Target Potential* for haematite mineralisation is estmiated to be up to 60Mt.
* Target Potential - The potential quantity and grade of possible haematite direct shipping grade iron ore at Yogi is conceptual in nature as Ferrowest has determined that insufficient data currently exists to define a Mineral Resource and it is uncertain if exploration will result in determination of any Mineral Resource. Target Potential is based upon calculations prepared by Ferrowest with reference to current experience at Yogi and available data
